Recognisable, Yet Original

The main goal of the print magazine is to stay recognisable as a brand, yet be original in each new issue. All within an always tight deadline before sending it off to the printer. By creating a diverse selection of templates, the publication of 172 pages can be made completely within the deadline of two weeks. Yet by also designing new layouts for each issue, the magazine keeps its originality. The cover story is one of these places where I create new unique layouts with bold typography each issue.

Issue No.07

Refined Sophistication

After the first 4 issues, I redesigned the magazine from the ground up, in line with the rebranding I made for Pure Luxe in 2019. Using my experience from those first issues, I refined the design of the magazine to a higher degree of sophistication. Resulting in a more mature publication that further emphasises its position in the high-end market.

Issue No.06

The sixth edition of Pure Luxe Magazine has Winston Gerschtanowitz on the cover. TV-host, producer and entrepreneur, one person with many lives. But most of all he is a family man: ‘Family comes first, abition comes right after.’ Pure Luxe spoke with him in the Tuschinsky theater in Amsterdam, which his great grandfather co-founded. Issue No.05

The fifth edition stands for change, it’s the first issue with the redesigned look. Aditionally, the size of the magazine has increased to allow for more room for the stunning photography. It’s also the first time that two people star on the cover. The two piano brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen are on their way to make it globally, Pure Luxe spoke with them in the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam. Cover photography by Jesaja Hizkia.

Older Issues

The first four issues of the magazine appeared between 2017 and 2018. The design is in line with the initial visual identity I made for the brand. On the covers the original wordmark can be seen, derived from the Domaine typeface, but transformed into a unique stencil logotype.
