Online-Magazine-Intro

Promo video I made for the release of the newly redesigned website.

The homepage has sections for featured stories, different types of categories, as well as most recent and most popular articles. This way readers that are looking for inspiration can browse the homepage until they find an article that suits their specific interests.

Increased Synergy

The main goal of the redesigned online magazine is to increase synergy between the print magazine and the website. In order to increase the consistency of the brand’s visual identity, the improved corporate style has been well documented and applied to both the new website and newer issues of the print magazine.

Article pages have three different templates with small, medium and large feature imagery to give the editorial office a choice in layout for different types of stories.

Comfortable Reading

One of the focus points of the redesign is to provide the reader with a comfortable and distraction-less reading experience. Typography of the body text has been fine-tuned with specific type size, leading, tracking and words per line to prevent straining of the eye while reading.

Informational detail pages have a distinct dark colour scheme to clearly visually separate them from the article pages.

Dedicated detail pages for each print magazine link to articles of those specific magazines that have also been published online.

Increase in Reading Time

The redesign makes picking what to read next easier by presenting the user recommended stories at the end of each article. Infinite scroll allows users to keep reading related articles by simply scrolling down the endless page.

Navigation in the footer, top bar and hamburger menu. The categories can also be found in the top bar for direct access, while some lower hierarchical pages can only be found in the navigation drawer.
